Coaching Staff

The Celsius Tennis Academy represents a "higher degree of excellence" that includes over 50 years combined teaching experience. This dedicated staff led by Cary Cohenour, is extremely talented. Our staff's teaching experience is unsurpassed and, in many cases, our instructors have had outstanding professional tennis playing careers as well. Our commitment is dedicated to our students, on and off the court 24/7. As coaches, we are committed to building complete players who will continue to compete and enjoy the game of the tennis the rest of their lives.

Cary Cohenour

Cary Cohenour, Owner/Director

Cary is a graduate of Bollettieri Tennis Academy. He earned the #1 ranking in every age group in Florida and reached a national junior ranking of #3 in the 14’s and 16’s. He won four National Gold Balls and three National Silver Balls including singles titles at the National Clay Court 14’s and the Easter Bowl 14’s and 16’s. He was also a proud recipient of two USA Sportsmanship awards. At the University of Tennessee, Cary won two NCAA Southern Conference titles and reached a career high #3 NCAA singles ranking. As a professional, Cary won several satellite tournaments and attained an ATP Tour Ranking of #272. Cary is the former Director of Billy Stearn’s Tennis Academy. He has coached touring professionals, collegiate players and national juniors thus bringing an unsurpassed level of professional experience to the team.
Cary is a regular contributor to Florida Tennis Magazine.

   
Scott Shields

Scott Shields, Assistant Director

Scott is a life long resident of Sarasota, Florida and graduate of the IMG Tennis Academy where Scott achieved a top 5 ranking in all age divisions in Florida. As a junior player, Scott participated in USTA National Junior tournaments and earned national rankings in the 12's, 14's and 16's.Scott attended Florida State University on a full tennis Scholarship. As the #1 player and Team Captain for FSU, Scott earned an NCAA ranking of #27. During his 4 year career at FSU he won 2 conference singles and doubles titles.

   
Holly Holton-Moore

Holly Holton-Moore

Holly has over 30 years of tennis experience. She is graduated from Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy/ IMG. In high school Holly played #1 singles and doubles where she was district and state champion three out of the fours years. Holly's success as a junior included a consistent top 10 ranking in Florida throughout her junior career. She was awarded a full scholarship to Division II Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, FL where she played #1 singles and doubles. As one of the new Junior Development Program pros, Holly brings extensive tennis teaching experience to the position. Holly has coached several junior tennis programs including Bath & Racquet Club junior tennis program and camp in Sarasota, FL. Holly is also the Riverview High School Boys Head Coach in Sarasota.

   
Ali Bennaji

Ali Bennaji

Ali is a native of Morocco and he played most of his junior career in North Africa and Europe. He was ranked #1 in 18's and under in Morocco before attending Winthrop University from 1988-1992. He played #1 singles and doubles for this Division I school. Prior to joining Celsius Tennis Academy, Ali has spent the past 6 years as a Head Coach at the IMG Bollettieri Tennis Academy. From 1993 to 2005 he worked at The Houston Country Club and Westside Tennis Club in Houston, TX as well as coaching on the National and ITF circuit. Ali is highly regarded amoung his fellow coaching peers as well as by his current and former students.

   
Daniel Buguna

Daniel Buganu

Originally from Romania, Daniel moved to Sarasota in January 2007. As a junior, Daniel earned national ranking as high as top 5 in the 16's. He's also played several futures tournaments in Europe and United States. Initially he has worked with Gomez Tennis Academy in Sarasota from January 2007 until march 2010. He also coached juniors in Romania prior coming to United States.

   
Scott Schuhriemen

Scott Schuhriemen

Scott is a long time resident of Sarasota, Florida and graduate from Riverview High School where he played #1 and was district champion all four years in addition to a state title in 1992. Scott obtained a top 5 ranking in all age divisions in Florida. As a junior player, Scott participated in USTA National Junior tournaments and earned national rankings in the 12's, 14's, 16’s and 18's in addition to winning the Sugar Bowl in Baton Rouge, LA. Scott attended Florida State University on a full tennis Scholarship and graduated in 1996.

   
Andre Hudson

Andre Hudson, Fitness Trainer

Celcius Tennis Academy's Strength & Conditioning Program is led by one of the Bay Areas top sports performance enhancer's and fitness motivators, Andre Hudson. Andre is the President/Founder of Pro Builder Fitness Inc., a personal training company that specializes in taking athletes to the next level. We aim to perfect each athletes technique in areas such as Acceleration, Top Speed, Lateral Movement, and over all Body Rhythm. Prior to the intense workout routine that Andre has prepared for the athletes, is a 10 minute dynamic warm-up routine, designed to raise the body's core temperature in preparation for the upcoming workout. The exercises used are also designed to target basic movement technique as well as balance, rhythm, flexibility, and body control.
