Andre Hudson, Fitness Trainer, Celsius Tennis AcademyOur Strength & Conditioning Program is led by one of the Bay Area’s top sports performance enhancers and fitness motivators, Andre Hudson. Andre is the President/Founder of Pro Builder Fitness Inc., a personal training company that specializes in taking athletes to the next level.  We aim to perfect each athlete’s technique in areas such as Acceleration, Top Speed, Lateral Movement, and over all Body Rhythm.  Prior to the intense workout routine that Andre has prepared for the athlete’s, is a 10 minute dynamic warm-up routine, designed to raise the body’s core temperature in preparation for the upcoming workout. The exercises used are also designed to target basic movement technique as well as balance, rhythm, flexibility, and body control.   These things are needed to prevent the athlete’s from becoming injured during the workouts. On Monday’s we target Linier Speed, we perform drills that help the athlete’s develop blazing straight away speed.  Wednesday’s workouts focus is Jumping Skills with the athletes.  Jumping skills are critical to tennis players because they directly influence the athlete’s ability to explode out of a stop position, and quickly accelerate into a sprint. Friday’s workout, Andre focuses on the athletes Lateral Speed and Change of Direction Skills.  These drills are fun for the athletes, but competitive.  Athletes get the chance to compete against each other in a number of drills that exposes their strengths and weaknesses. This allows Andre the opportunity to evaluate each individual athlete’s performance, looking to see that there is no feet dragging, that they are quick on the take off reacting and responding well, and also that they are smooth and swift when moving from side to side, forward and backward. This shows how agile the athlete is or has become from attending the fitness sessions led by Andre Hudson.

After being in the Sports Conditioning and Fitness field for well over 12 years, and working out with a number of tennis players from various academies, Andre believes that preparing tennis players for their peak season or a major tournament, is a year round process.  This is one on one training that focuses on enhancing the athletes overall performance, something that you will never get from a group session.  The key to Andre’s success with individual athlete’s is knowing when to take them from moderate to intense training, graduating only when the athlete has perfected the drills with proper technique and good form.  Then going from intense to highly intense training is where the athlete should be at a certain point going into a major tournament.
